Visiting Monotype Artist Carola Saupper alias CaSa
Visiting other artists is always fun for me. I absolutely love seeing how other creatives work and how they get their art done. So it was a great day visiting Carola Saupper (CaSa) in her lovely atelier all up on the island of Fehmarn in the eastern sea in Germany. She produces monotypes with a lot of different colors and tools, everything varying in sizes and there is no print like the other. I found it beautiful how shapes and colors interact, separate on paper and in the end create something very different looking (from my perspective) than what I’ve seen on the monotype-plate. Of course it’s not random, it just takes time to understand the process and master this art. Carola has done so over the last years, printing an enormous amount. Her artworks range from smaller sizes like 5x5cm to larger monotypes of 40x40cm in size.
